Don't wait or it'll be too late

With the Holidays just behind us chances are you have gone to one or two of your favorite store sales events and have added a few new things to your wardrobe. Me too..
After buying a new item of clothing, people split in to two groups. Those who excitedly wear their new purchase as soon as possible and those who don't.
You see, there are some people who when they buy something new, they take it home, hang it in the closet, look at it fondly and get a sense of happy anticipation when thinking about wearing it, but they don't wear it. Not the next day, not the next weekend, not the following month and sometimes never.
So what is with the delayed gratification? You might not do delayed gratification in any other area of your life so why with your cloths you are forever on hold?
you might have picked up this habit due to hide-and-lie approach to new purchases. Whether you were hiding your purchases from Dad, mom, husband, wife, kids, roomates or whomever, you disposed the evidence and waited and waited for the discreet time to wear it. Or you might be one of those people who think " Oh, this outfit looks nice, Wait, I should save it for another occasion, I better take it off" Then you put on something older, more casual or not as nice and you leave the house.
What you're saving your nice cloths for is never clear, to you or anyone else.
There is no pay-off to this delayed gratification because ultimately, tomorrow never comes.

Fashion moves on, so does the weather. Your body shape changes, and then suddenly they have lost their magic and they are totally inappropriate for the season or for the whatever trend is going on or for your body and you're wondering if you sell it on eBay or give it away.
It's like saving the most delicious part of your meal for too long, then discovering it's gone bad while you were waiting for that perfect moment to eat it.
You have heard me talk about CPW or cost per wear, how you can work out the value of something by dividing its price by the number of the times you wear it.
So think about it, if you buy a pair of Jeans that fits you perfectly and flatters your figure for $100 and wore it 20 times in a year, that is $5 per wear.
if you buy a dress for $200 wore it twice because you were either saving it for that perfect time or you just didn't know that style is not flattering for your body type, that's $100 per wear.. OUCH...
The point is why on earth wouldn't you wear those items in your wardrobe that gives you the most pleasure?
Remember, the best way to get your money back from your cloths is to start wearing them immediately, hey maybe even out of the store.
